AUSTIN F SCHMIDT | PERSONAL BIO Austin F Schmidt first began his education as a fine arts major at Point Loma University in San Diego, CA. There he became familiar with artistic composition and detail which naturally applied to his future as a cinematographer. Years later he attended the New York University Undergraduate Tisch Film Program followed shortly by an acceptance into the FAMU Summer Program in Prague, Czechoslovakia. During that time, Schmidt studied the craft of cinematography and received a BFA with honors. While living in Manhattan, NY Schmidt created AFS Productions, a cinematography and camera operating service. During this time, he also taught camera and lighting classes at the New York Film Academy. Schmidt offers the use of his Moviecam 35MM synch motion picture camera, accessory equipment, and working expertise of the camera's operation and motion picture photography as an art form. He currently operates as a bi-coastal cinematographer out of Los Angeles and Manhattan and is represented by the Creative Entertainment Connections talent management company. |
